Because ‘more is more’.\n\nBack in Dugges’ early days, sometime around 2005 or 2006, we brewed a 16% ABV Imperial Stout that never saw the light of day. It simply didn’t taste right. But when we scaled down the recipe, suddenly it tasted fantastic! That beer became Idjit, one of our most iconic beers.\n\nFast-forward to 2021, when we wanted to revisit that original ambition. Not just to brew something big, bigger or biggest, but to brew something MEGA! Everything turned up to eleven, extra on top of extra, and a generous helping of everything you could ever wish for. And then some.\n\nSince then, we’ve made countless versions of Mega. But, believe it or not, we’d never made a straightforward barrel-aged version. Until now. And we’ve aged it in two different types of barrels, of course. Because it wouldn’t be Mega if we didn’t take things to the max.
